Customs Clearance Assistance

Customs Freight Simplified Procedures (CFSP) allow for easier customs clearance of goods imported from countries that are not a part of the EU. This process is undertaken through one of two procedures, or a combination of both:

Simplified Declaration Procedure (SDP) – this system allows for goods to enter into customs procedure without needing to complete the full customs declaration at the time of release. This is the authorisation most suited to the importation of perishables.
Entry into Declarant’s Records (EIDR) – earlier known as the Local Clearance Procedure (LCP), this authorisation allows for goods to enter into customs procedures without having to pay duty and taxes just yet. These charges can be declared and paid within a month of the goods being released from the customs warehouse.

CFSP rules are helpful to importers of goods from non-EU countries. The benefits include:
